At the moment I have around 20 but historically I've made around 50 full costumes.
I grew up watching Dragon Ball every morning before school. Only when I was a little older did I learn that Dragon Ball came from Japan, that anime existed, and in that moment a whole new library of stories opened up before me. That is my Japan.
My name is Nomes. I like styling ridiculous wigs (over 200 so far), over-complicating simple costumes and telling stories. I can adlib a public speaking gig at minimal notice, but have been known to hyperventilate over a phone call.

Here are the ones that I would consider ultimately life changing for me and have had a significant effect on my personality and outlook: Dragonball, Jojos Bizarre Adventure, One Piece, Biohazard/Resident Evil, Sonic The Hedgehog, Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Pokémon, Bleach, Naruto, Berserk, Death Note, Code Geass
I currently have 19 costumes, 6 of them are just different versions of Goku. But I’m trying to cut down recently so I can focus on making just a few really really good!
When I first got fit and turned my life around it wasn’t because I was inspired by actors, models, or movie stars. It was because the stories of anime and manga resonated with me and the hearts of their characters inspired me to keep moving forward with my goals. Since then that philosophy has become the base of my business ‘Be More Shonen’ which will eventually be my life’s work.
That is what I think of when I think of Japan, I think of all the amazing works of fiction that quite literally saved my life.
