Heat Safety Guidelines for All Participants

Let’s prevent heatstroke together! Enjoy the event with proper preparation!

For World Cosplay Summit 2025, we will be implementing heatstroke prevention measures based on government guidelines to ensure a safe cosplay event.
If you start to feel unwell during the event, do not push yourself — please speak to a nearby staff member.
Heatstroke can occur anytime, anywhere, and to anyone depending on the conditions.
Be especially careful during outdoor activities under the blazing sun or at summer events.
Please take precautions and preventive measures.
Extreme heat is expected during the WCS 2025 event days.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the event safely and to help continue hosting events in the future, your understanding and cooperation are essential.
We kindly ask for your efforts in heatstroke prevention.

What is Heatstroke?

Heatstroke is a general term for various symptoms caused when the human body cannot adapt to hot and humid environments.
Anyone can suffer from heatstroke depending on the conditions — anytime, anywhere.
The three main factors that cause heatstroke:
Environment: High temperature, high humidity, weak wind, etc.
Body: Infants, elderly, those feeling unwell, not accustomed to heat, etc.
Behavior: Intense exercise, unfamiliar activities, long hours of outdoor work, lack of hydration, etc.

Let’s Take Preventive Measures Against Heatstroke

Carry a Drink With You

Always carry a drink so you can hydrate whenever needed.
Drink fluids frequently before feeling thirsty.

Take Regular Breaks

At events exposed to heat and sunlight, take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion.

Use Cooling Items

Use cooling sheets, scarves, portable fans, hand fans, instant coolers, cold packs, cooling sprays, etc.
Cooling areas with major blood vessels like the neck is especially effective.

Don’t Push Yourself in the Heat

During peak sun hours, take a break or shift your cosplay time to suit your condition.
The event runs from 11:00 to 21:00.
If you have a cosplay dressing room pass, you may enter and exit the dressing room freely to change.
(Please present your event pass at the dressing room reception.)

Prepare Your Body for the Heat

Get plenty of sleep before the event. Lack of sleep can lead to poor physical condition.

Soak in a Bath

Practice sweating beforehand by soaking in the bath.
Make sure to hydrate regularly and avoid overdoing it.

Wear Cool Clothing, Use Umbrellas and Hats

Extremely hot weather is expected on the day of the event.
Please enjoy the event in comfortable, heat-friendly costumes.
Use umbrellas or hats. Light clothing is recommended.
While enjoying the event is important, your health comes first.

Eat Meals and Replenish Nutrients

Be sure to eat nutritious meals.
Even during the event, do not skip meals.
Use salt candies or energy drinks to regularly replenish salt and nutrients.
Make sure to get vitamins and salt.

Check Emergency Contact Info

If you feel unwell, don’t hesitate to speak to a nearby staff member.
In some cases, emergency contacts may need to be called — please make sure to confirm them in advance.
It’s helpful to carry a note with emergency contact info in your belongings for peace of mind.
